| G'Day, I'm Dylan

Australian in Ontario Canada

As a born and raised Australian, I have spent the past two decades honing my skills as an Audio Engineer, IT Manager/Web Developer, Videographer/Film Editor, Photographer, and Designer. My experience in the Multimedia, Production, and IT Industries has allowed me to become an expert in setting up and operating Audio, Lighting, and Video systems. Furthermore, I possess the ability to specify, implement, support, and manage all complex corporate computer systems, including networking over different mediums, security CCTV, access control systems, and web development and design. In addition to my extensive film experience, I am adept at planning, creating film briefs, shooting, directing, and editing film/video through to delivery. I have been in the industry long enough to receive training on original linear Betamax tape-to-tape editing systems.

Q: Curent Location
A: Listowel, Ontario

Q: Why’d you leave Australia
A: I had an opportunity to travel to Canada, arrived, got connected in and fell in love with the environment. and fell in love with a Canadian Girl.

Q: What made you get into this lines of work?
A: Since I was young, I’ve had a passion for technology. I was always intrigued by how electronics functioned and would often disassemble them to find out. My family’s first computer was a Windows 3.1 machine, and I even acquired an old Commodore 64 at a school event. I spent much of my childhood experimenting with computers and building them from scratch, so it made perfect sense for me to pursue a career in the IT industry.

As for film, I discovered my interest in it while taking a course. I fell in love with the process of creating, crafting, and the challenge, as well as the technology involved.

Q: What gear/software do you use?
A: I roll with:
Canon 70d and primarily shooting on a 24mm pancake lense.
Sony FS5
Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite; Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, In Design.
DaVinci Resolve
